Jamie Anderson's win at the Grand Prix in Copper Mountain
Congrats to Jamie Anderson who is starting off the season on a high note. Coming off a win at the Dew Tour in last month, Anderson has just secured another 1st place finish in women's slopestyle this weekend at the Sprint US Grand Prix at Copper Mountain. After the event, Anderson said "“This has all been unreal, I feel so lucky. I am so grateful to be here, I have had wonderful support from the U.S. Snowboarding team and I’m truly looking forward to the adventure of the Olympic qualifying period. 13 is my lucky number, I was born on the 13th and there are 13 letters in my name so I would like to think this good vibe will keep going through. It has been my goal to center myself from my mind, body, and to my soul and so far it has been working out for me.”
The slopestyle event is the first domestic FIS World Cup providing today’s competitors with valuable Olympic qualifying points, and is considered a 5 star event, adding further points towards the World Snowboard Tour.
In addition to being point earning event, the compeition doubled as the U.S. Snowboarding Championships with Guldemond and Anderson taking national slopestyle titles.
