Billabong‚Äö?Ñ?¥s Jamie Anderson Claims the BGOS Championship Titles and $100,000 at Stratton, Vermont
Even though Jamie Anderson went down with a ruptured spleen injured in a practice run earlier this week, she still managed to amass enough season points to win the Burton Global Open Series title and the record purse it paid.
On the last day of the US Open, the 18-year-old Anderson, one of snowboarding’s hottest new stars became the new BGOS Women’s Champion, taking home $100,000, currently the largest single payout in the sport.
Megan Villa, Billabong Girl’s Team Manager expressed the elation everyone felt when Anderson was able to achieve the victory. “It is a statement to Jamie’s dominant season performance that she still had enough points to pull out a win even while she is in a hospital bed for the US Open!”
Anderson, who was voted the Female Rider of the year in Transworld Snowboarding Magazine’s rider poll awards, has been on a massive roll over the last 16 months, racking up a string of contest triumphs that include seven first place results, 07/08 TTR Champion and two Winter X Games gold medals.
Stay tuned for more about the amazing Jamie, who will be debuting her own signature outerwear line at Billabong soon.
