Billabong‚Äö?Ñ?¥s Silvana Lima Reaches the Semifinals of the RipCurl Pro Mademoiselle at Les Bordaines, Hossegor, France
Silvana Lima (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil) will improve on the ASP Womans World Tour ratings after reaching the Semifinals of the RipCurl Pro Mademoiselle at Les Bordaines, Hossegor, France today. The Quarter Finals ushered in the days start of competition with Lima surfing Quarter Final No. 4 against Australian Samantha Cornish where she took the heat win to advance further. In Semifinal No.2 she was against current ASP Womans World Champion Stephanie Gilmore who took the victory and eliminated Lima from the event with an equal third and 756 points to improve her ASP ratings. The final has been placed on hold till a call is made at 6pm to decide if conditions are good enough for the final.
The RipCurl Mademoiselle Girls Festival is the third of eight stops on the ASP Women's World Tour and includes the world's top 17 full-time touring female professional surfers plus one wildcards. The event has a five day waiting period but requires only two full days of competition to be completed. Sofia Mulanovich is the defending champion.
