• Congratulations, Ethan! 2016-2017 World Junior Champion

Ethan Ewing continued his incredible run of form and took home the 2016-2017 World Junior Championship after beating a stacked field, including a final against close friend and Billabong teammate Griffin Colapinto. As the only CT athlete in the field, Ethan was the heavy favorite to take the Junior Championship and in a challenging fading swell at Kiama in Australia, Ethan was able to pull out a huge victory and carry the momentum of an amazing 2016 into early 2017.

In addition to Ethan's massive win, the men's event was dominated by Billabong athletes. Griffin Colapinto surfed out of his mind for most of the event on his way to a runner-up finish and 2016 Billabong Pipe Master Invitational winner, 16 year old Finn McGill finished 3rd after falling to Griffin in the semifinals. With all four of these young surfers doing well in the contest it's a true testament to the effectiveness of Billabong's Bloodlines program.

The entire Billabong team is flying high at the moment and we couldn't be more stoked for them. Next up for the boys will be the first CT event of the year in March at Snapper Rocks.
