Make Magic Holiday Banner

With our Holiday gift guide in full swing - Yes, we’re talking about everything from gifts for you, those ‘go to gifts’ to make anyone happy on your list, or even the trinkets perfect for stocking stuffers and everything in between, we thought more and more about what we love to get alongside any of these must-have gifts…

The answer was simple, we love something thoughtfully handmade and a reminder to make a little magic this holiday season! It’s an uplifting sentiment that can be easily crafted at home and hung in the home.

Here our ‘Make Magic’ banner how-to...

Some supplies you’ll need:

  • Wooden dowel
  • Canvas fabric
  • Felt
  • Tape
  • Xacto knife and cutting mat
  • Glue gun and glue
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • 8.5 x 11 paper for creating your design
  • A piece of string or rope to hang

Using a sharpie and an 8.5x11 paper and sharpie marker we quickly illustrated our ‘Make Magic’ design.

Place your creative design over your felt and tape down on either side. Using your Xacto knife, carefully trace the outline of your ‘Make Magic’ design. You can always use a pair of fabric scissors to round and corners after your done using the Xacto.

Lay your canvas flat on top of your cutting mat, and carefully place your ‘Make magic’ cutout design on top.

Using your straight edge, cut the top of your banner followed by both sides using your ‘Make Magic’ cutout as a guide to how wide your banner will be. After trimming both side, locate the bottom middle point, and cut diagonally to create a perfect point.

Glue down your ‘Make Magic’ cutout using your glue gun.

Flip the banner over, and place your wooden dowel about 1.5inches from the top. Place glue along the wooden dowel and fold the canvas over, allowing the glue to take hold.

Using your loose piece of string, knot the dowel on either side for easy hanging in your home!

And just like that, you’ve made a little holiday magic already this holiday season!
