Occy Advances with Backhand Blitz at Sunset
Mark Occhilupo took his legendary backhand attack to the walls of Sunset Beach at the O’Neill World Cup of Surfing Friday. Occhilupo placed second behind fellow Australian Mark Mathews in the Round of 128 but still advances into the next round of competition which could take place Saturday.
The O’Neill World Cup of Surfing is the second jewels of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing and the last stop in the ASP World Qualifying Series tour. The event will feature some 200 of the world’s top qualifying series campaigners. The defending champion is Makua Rothman.
