Shaping Laguna featuring Tyler Warren
Crowd surfing on a week night? You better believe it. Nothing like a little Thursday evening out on the town, and no better place to do it than Billabong Laguna Beach for the opening night of Shaping Laguna featuring Tyler Warren. Tyler has all the talent and connections to put on a party of epic proportions and that’s exactly what he did. After carefully curating the entire place with his art pieces and handcrafted boards that ranged from 9-foot noseriders to channel bottomed tri-fins, it was time to let it rip. The crew on hand consisted of a core surf, skate and youthful party crowd. This wasn’t an ordinary industry party; this was a night that celebrated surf culture and all of the fun that it embodies. Starting off the night there were smooth tunes provided by DJ Calviinchi. Then, George Trimm and his band took the stage as the sun began to set and the floor began to shake. Last but not least, the Soul Beacons jammed their funk and soul to a standing room only crowd that could be heard throughout the city. Of course there was crowd surfing. Of course there were pretty ladies. And yes, there was crowd surfing. All good things must come to an end, and after their third encore the Soul Beacons retired, the beer ran out and Tyler Warren sealed the deal for best party of the year so far. What a night the first Shaping Laguna was. Bring on summer and all the fun that Billabong Laguna will have to offer.
