• The Billabong Pro, Jeffreys Bay is Go!

Going big…

With a two-week waiting period beginning July 15th, the fourth event on the 2010 ASP Men's World Tour boasts an increased total prize pool of US$400,000 and 10,000 ratings points for the winner.
American surfing super-star Kelly Slater leads the world ratings heading into Jeffreys Bay, perfectly positioned for a run at a possible and historic 10th World Title.
Looking to eclipse Slater's lead is an all-star cast including defending and two-time event champion Joel Parkinson, fellow Aussies and former Billabong Pro winners Mick Fanning and Taj Burrow, along with current top 10 rated surfers Dane Reynolds (USA), Bobby Martinez (USA), Adriano De Souza (BRZ) and of course, local hero Jordy Smith (ZAF).
And keep an eye on the other local wildcards and the outcome of the VZ Trials!

Going off! …
"Supertubes" is renowned the world over for its incredibly long rides and high-performance surfing is the name of the game! The 2009 Billabong Pro saw some of the best surf of the entire season and the early indications for 2010 are excellent. Already, local surfers have enjoyed some spectacular pre-season conditions. So expect big things come show time!

Going 'Green'

Billabong has partnered with Cleaner Climate for a second year and implemented a series of sustainable practices to assist in decreasing the event's carbon footprint. It's all about minimising the environmental impact of the event through a wide array of emission reduction initiatives, including: an event Recycling Program, use of biodegradable food and beverage containers, use of biodiesel in Billabong's own fleet vehicles and sponsored event vehicles, solar heating, daily beach clean-ups, green guides (printed on recycled paper of course!) and more!

Going hard!
No, we don't mean 'stiff' - though it does get pretty cold in J'Bay in July, especially in the mornings with the infamous offshore winds blowing across those big Roaring 40s swells - but going hard to wrap the event in the best possible waves, going hard to keep up with all the local event activities (stay tuned for updates!), going hard with the VonZipper trials, and going hard to bring everyone all the action of the best surfing in the world.
Just four days are required to crown a champion. This is your URL for all future updates ... keep it bookmarked!
